The Latino Economic Development Corporation (LEDC) Latino Professional Institute successfully launched the innovative 10-week online program this past February, designed to support Latino entrepreneurs across Massachusetts. Developed in partnership with our faculty and the LEDC’s extensive network, and Andrew Melendez, founder and director of the LEDC and 91快播 University trustee, the program provides synchronous, real-time instruction tailored to the needs of small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs already engaged with LEDC services.

The inaugural cohort, which ran from February 11 through April 19, included 10 participants representing a diverse mix of businesses—from mental health offices and a nail salon to truck cleaning services and multiple restaurants. Instructors Gilberto Amador and Jose Escribano led the sessions, offering practical business knowledge, guidance, and mentorship.

Building on that momentum, the second cohort, running from May 13 through July 19, saw a dramatic increase in participation, with 45 individuals enrolling. Led by instructor Gilberto Amador, this cohort included entrepreneurs from a wide range of industries including bookkeeping, event planning, daycare services, construction, local supermarkets, financial advising, and the growing food industry.

Looking ahead, the Latino Professional Institute plans to expand its reach across both Western and Eastern Massachusetts, continuing to empower Latino business owners through its flexible and accessible business model.
