The Healthcare Administration Certification prepares professionals to lead healthcare organizations with confidence, strategic insight, and a commitment to service excellence. Through a series of applied, graduate-level courses, students develop skills in legal compliance, quality improvement, leadership, and project management—all within the complex and evolving healthcare landscape.

This certification includes three key courses:

  • Principles of Healthcare Service Excellence (HCA 500): Learn to create a culture of service excellence in healthcare by exploring best practices in strategy, staffing, and systems. Topics include customer service culture, staff empowerment, service quality measurement, managing wait times, and recovery from service failures.
  • Healthcare Law, Policy, and Ethics (HCA 501): Explore key legal and ethical issues affecting healthcare delivery. Students will gain a foundational understanding of legal terminology, statutes, and the relationship between healthcare law, policy, and ethics; equipping them to navigate compliance in today’s regulatory environment.
  • Six Sigma Lean Methodology in Healthcare (HCA 610): Gain hands-on experience applying Lean and Six Sigma principles to real-world healthcare process improvement. Students will analyze data, develop hypotheses, and use statistical tools to reduce waste, increase efficiency, and improve patient satisfaction through team-led improvement projects.
  • Continuous Improvement Strategies, Tools, and Techniques (HCA 611): Master foundational tools for organizational efficiency and quality, such as root cause analysis, flow charts, Pareto charts, SWOT analysis, and more. Students will apply these techniques to healthcare scenarios to enhance continuous improvement efforts.
  • Change Management and Project Management Integration (HCA 612): Learn how to lead successful change initiatives by aligning project structure with change management principles. This course emphasizes both the technical and human aspects of transformation; addressing resistance, communication, and engagement as part of effective project execution.
  • AI-Powered Healthcare Administration Strategies (HCA 621): Dive into how AI is revolutionizing healthcare administration, from predictive analytics and workflow automation to regulatory compliance and data security. Gain insight into how AI can enhance efficiency, improve outcomes, and support smarter strategic planning in healthcare organizations.

This certification equips current and aspiring healthcare leaders to improve operations, implement change, and lead ethically and efficiently in today’s patient-centered healthcare organizations.

This certification can be completed on its own or count as three of the ten courses required toward your MBA.
